I believe that to go far, you need to be part of a team. In real estate that means being surrounded by a group of local, ethical, educated real estate investors that have a service heart to share best practices, tribal knowledge and camaraderie.
If it were not for that first investor association that I walked into when I got started, I would not be where I am today. Completely financially independent. Today I continue to pay it back and pay it forward as our group has been in continual operation since 2003.
Today, almost 20 years later, I am still part of that association. In fact, I believed in it’s transformational ability so much that I eventually purchased it, re-branded it, grew it across the state and made it better than ever to allow more opportunities to connect, grow, share knowledge and ideas, and ultimately create income and build wealth for our members.
I believe in consistency. Since 2003, I can count the number of TexasREIA meetings I’ve missed on one hand. Including when I was giving birth to my child. TexasREIAS was my first baby. It’s a group with a solid set of principles and ethics that I strongly believe in and fiercely protect. We’ve created a community of investors that connect, share, give and grow together. I’ve spent a lot of time, money, effort and energy protecting and building this culture into something I believe in, can stand behind, stand up for and am in integrity with.
I believe in being of service in the community, sharing knowledge, giving support, giving guidance, sharing best practices, getting better together. I believe in the good of the whole and helping others find their path. I believe in creating and living in community with others. I believe in standing with others for what is right. I believe in creating goals. Crushing life and getting better every day. If you are not growing, you are dying. If you are not experiencing news things, you are not living.
I believe when you are blessed, you are required to bless. Muhammad Ali said “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth”. He was spot on.
