Flow States

We are most powerful and productive when we are undistracted by all the little things that steal our focus. For me, when I need to tune in and power on, I love to use tools and strategies that help me perform at my best.

Spirituality

I fiercely protect my morning rituals. Finding time for myself to create that set point for the rest of my day is a power source for me. I have a special sanctuary in my home that I call “The Zen Den”. It’s a No Cell Phone Zone. It’s where I go to relax, refresh, and read. Morning meditation, breath work, prayer and grounding are parts of my daily routine.

Reading & Personal Development

I read 50-100 books a year. I read it with the mind to grow, groove new neural pathways, and integrate new knowledge and best practices in my life. I also read it with a mind to share the best knowledge and the best books with those I care about. I have literally given away over 1,000 books to my clients, colleagues, friends and family over the years. The gift of knowledge, the gift of a book - It is one of my favorite things to give someone.

Cut the cord - Go on an “Information Diet”

A friend once said about me “I know why Shenoah is so happy. She doesn’t watch the news.” In 2013, we cut the cord - we stopped watching the news every morning. For years I justified it as I was getting educated, staying up to date. But the truth is the only news I need, that affects how I run my day is the weather and the traffic. Everything else is just designed to distract you from your goal, your purpose in life.

Not cooking and not driving

I enjoy cooking, but I’m not great at it and I don’t get paid to do it. A few years ago I hired a chef to meal prep 2x/week for me and my family. That allowed me to spend an extra 12 hours/week in my business and get healthy food that I know what goes in it. I can make a lot more money in my business than I can cooking and cleaning. I know what my time is worth and I know what my purpose is. Funny story about cooking….. I try to eat a very low sugar diet and I also love granola. So a few years ago I perfected a no sugar, high protein granola. My family loves it. In fact my mom said to me “Shenoah, you should package and brand this granola and sell it at the Whole Foods and throughout the city.” I said “Mom, I think that’s a great idea if I ever wanted to take a 99.5% pay cut.” I know what my time is worth and I know what I excel at. I’m going to leave the rest to the pro’s and people with a passion for it.

I love driving my baby blue convertible. But I rarely drive because in order for me to run my business and be all over Texas and be able to sleep at home almost every work night, I bought a Mercedes Sprinter Van. It’s set up like a mobile office. That way when I’m on my way to meetings throughout the state, I can be working in the back, instead of driving. It’s another activity that allows me to focus on my purpose and my highest return on my time. I don’t want this part to sound like I’m above these activities but I do want to recognize and value my time and contribution and remove all obstacles that get in the way of me getting the highest return on my time.

Travel

While my home is my sanctuary and I’m blessed to live in a spectacular 10,000 square foot estate in Barton Creek, I do make it a priority to travel regularly. I love the long weekend trips but I get a real thrill out of celebrating both New Years and the 4th of July in a more exciting location. We’ve celebrated in Rio, Sydney, NYC, Hawaii, Miami, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Paris and more.

As an Austinite, on your way to Heaven, you’ll have a layover in Dallas. :) I prioritize a direct flight even over going first class, but out of Austin, your choices are limited.
